Short Profile

Silke Möller is a member of the founding team of GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ and a partner in the Competition practice. She advises German and international clients on issues relating to German and European antitrust law. Her areas of expertise include national and international merger control including FDI and FSR proceedings, cartel proceedings of the European Commission and the German Federal Cartel Office as well as the advice of companies in developing, (re)structuring and implementing Compliance Management Systems.

Silke Möller studied law at the Universities of Münster and Barcelona. During her LL.M.-studies at King's College London she concentrated on antitrust law and was awarded a doctorate from the University of Bonn with a comparative thesis on European and US-American antitrust law. Currently she is doing an International Executive MBA Program at University of St. Gallen. She is a member of the Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht, the IBA's Antitrust Section, the ClaSF, and the German-American Lawyers’ Association. Silke Möller, a native German speaker, is also fluent in English and has basic knowledge in French and Spanish.

Silke is a lecturer at Westphalian University for Applied Sciences and a regular speaker at national and international conferences, e.g. of the Global Competition Review or the European Competition Lawyers’ Association. She is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of WuW, publishes on antitrust law on a regular basis and is part of the team of authors of the Frankfurt Commentary as well as Beck's Online Commentary on Competition Law. Who's Who Legal ranks her as Thought Leader Global Elite and JUVE as one of the leading antitrust lawyers in Germany. She is also recommended by Chambers, The Legal500, Best Lawyers, and the Wirtschaftswoche as acknowledged expert for antitrust law and compliance. W@Competition has honoured Silke as one of the "40 in their 40s - Notable Women Competition Professionals in Europe, the Americas and Africa". In the select ranking "Women in Antitrust 2021", which is only published every four to five years, Global Competition Review recognizes her as one of the leading antitrust experts worldwide.

  • Representation of various companies and PE investors in national and international merger control proceedings, incl. Arsenal Capital Group, Clearlake Capital Group, IDEX Corporation, Intermediate Capital Group, Investor AB, Ivanti, Martinrea International, Mycronic, PPC Partners, Spirax-Sarco, Torqx Capital Partners, or Towerbrook Capital Partners
  • Defense in cartel proceedings of the European Commission and the German Federal Cartel Office (including the investigations "retail food packaging", "luxury cosmetics", "drugstore products", "meat and sausages", "confectionery", "mills" and "steel purchasing")
  • Development, structuring and implementation of compliance organisations for various clients including renowned manufacturers of branded goods from the consumer goods industry, a leading German exhibition company and a large German purchasing cooperative; establishment of a global dawn raid task force for a large steel distributor listed on the German stock exchange
  • Advising companies and purchasing cooperatives of the automotive, consumer goods, finance, healthcare, mechanical engineering and construction industries on co-operations in the areas of R&D, production, purchasing and distribution including innovative digital business concepts (B2B, B2C) such as the representation of Klöckner & Co. SE in the leading case of the Federal Cartel Office and other companies from the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries on the compliant configuration of electronic trading platforms or German banks and banking associations inter alia on the development of a uniform digital payment system (DK-Pay)
